Qualifications

• Current registration with the Malaysian nursing regulatory body.
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in an operating theatre.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique and infection control.
• Excellent manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
• English proficiency for multilingual team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating theatre environment and ensure sterility.
• Assist surgical team during procedures, passing instruments and supporting staff.
• Maintain aseptic technique to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
• Coordinate with anaesthetic staff on patient positioning and preparation.
• Count instruments and materials before, during and after procedures.
• Respond to emergencies in the theatre and provide rapid support.
• Document theatre records, including counts and any incidents.
• Maintain and troubleshoot theatre equipment and report faults.
• Provide compassionate patient care, upholding confidentiality and dignity.
• Adhere to health, safety, infection control and theatre standards.
