Job summary

Unifiedcomms in Malaysia is seeking a System Engineer to join the delivery team. You will own customer deployments, support live production systems, and work closely with customers to deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications, IT or Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux, virtualization, MariaDB/MySQL, VPNs and firewalls.
• Basic programming/scripting skills in any language.

Responsibilities

• Onboard customers from kickoff to deployment, including timelines and training.
• Install and support servers, switches, NAS, and virtualization tech.
• Create project documentation: UATs, system overviews, user manuals, and reports.
• Provide L1/L2 tech-support to resolve customer issues quickly.
• Join a rotating 24/7 technical phone support schedule.
• Manage backups, recovery, performance tuning and fault handling of cloud platform.
• Maintain operations through routine upkeep and proactive improvements.
• Build automation scripts to improve efficiency.
• Support sales and consultants with testing, solution validation, and demos.

What You’ll Do

• Manage customer onboarding from kickoff to deployment, timeline, training, and customer expectations.
• Installation and support of servers, switches, NAS, and virtualization technologies.
• Create project documentation - UAT documents, system overviews, user manuals, and reports.

• Manage administration, backups, recovery, performance tuning, and fault handling of the cloud platform.
• Maintain smooth operations through routine upkeep and proactive improvements.
• Build automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.
• Support sales and consultant with testing, solution validation, and product demos for prospects.

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in Telecommunications, IT, or Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux, virtualization, MyriaDB/MySQL, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Basic programming/scripting skills in any language — we value capability over syntax.
• A collaborative spirit, self‑motivation, and the ability to work independently.
• Fresh grads with strong results and a hungry‑to‑learn attitude are very welcome!

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, But Not Mandatory!)

• Voice solution know-how (IPPBX, contact centre, VoIP).
• Familiarity with telecom protocols like SIP, SS7, Sigtran, Diameter, and GTP‑C/U.
• Exposure to cloud tech, Hadoop, data analytics, visualization, or cybersecurity.
