Job summary

Nokia in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee mass production for Optical System products. You will collaborate with R&D, PLM, Procurement, Engineering, Compliance, and Logistics across multiple regions to drive lifecycle milestones and ensure timely production.

You will coordinate contract manufacturers and OEM vendors, manage cross-functional teams, and lead cost optimization and risk mitigation efforts to meet product targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with relevant experience.
• 5+ years in supply chain or program management for mass production.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional programs across R&D, PLM, Procurement, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Program manage Nokia contract manufacturers & OEM vendors for mass production.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams through regular meetings to ensure shipment scheduling.
• Represent SC PM with R&D, PLM, Procurement, Product Engineering, EMS Mgmt, Logistics.
• Serve as escalation point to resolve delivery issues due to capacity or technical problems.
• Drive cost analysis and cost reduction projects to meet targets.
• Lead BOM reviews and risk mitigation via 2nd sourcing and buffer stock proposals.
• Prepare content for product lifecycle milestone reviews and approvals.
• Resolve operational issues in cross-functional teams across divisions.
• Ensure changes (ECN, deviations, etc.) are implemented to support schedules.
• Lead project plans for Product Transfers between EMS partners or internal factories.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

• Program manage Nokia contract manufacturers & OEM vendors regarding mass product.
• Coordinates cross-functional teams through regular meetings to ensure mass production shipment scheduling.
• Represent Supply Chain Program Management (SC PM) with other Nokia organizations like R&D, PLM, Procurement, Product Engineering, EMS Mgmt, Logistics etc.
• Serve as First level escalation point to resolve timely delivery of production output due to capacity & technical issues.
• Drives ongoing product cost analysis, cost reduction projects in support of product cost targets.
• Drives BOM reviews and pursues Supply Chain risk mitigation strategies via 2nd sourcing, buffer stock proposal, Long Lead Item procurement etc.
• Prepare & present relevant and necessary content in the prescribed format for product life cycle milestone reviews & approvals, sync'up meetings.
• Resolve operational issues out of production runs in cross-functional teams (Product Engineering, Test Engineering, R&D, PLM, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing).
• Works to ensure all change activity (ECN, variances, deviations, Special Build Requests) is implemented accurately and effectively to support the program schedule.
• Lead project plans related to "Product Transfers" between different EMS partners and / or between Internal factory to EMS partner.
• Special projects assigned by Management.

Key Skills And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal English communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Prefer education majors to be in Engineering, Supply Chain / Business Operations, Management but others will be considered with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing operations roles & responsibilities in Mass Production of an Optical / Electro mechanical Hardware product following a structured phase gate review process.
• Preferred knowledge of project planning; engineering drawings; manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and change management processes within Product Data Management (PDM) systems; forecasting; demand and supply planning; material requirements planning (MRP); purchasing; and product costing.
• Preferred advanced understanding of electronic and optical manufacturing processes, with a solid general knowledge of electronic and optical testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with electronic, optical, and mechanical components, as well as telecommunications systems, products, and technologies, is highly desirable.
