Job summary

Edmund Optics Malaysia is seeking a Supply Chain Assistant Manager to support daily operations including material planning, purchasing coordination, inventory control, warehouse activities, and shipment planning.

You will work with Production, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service and Logistics teams to ensure material availability and on-time delivery, while maintaining inventory accuracy and cost control.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in supply chain, planning, purchasing, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is an advantage.
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support daily supply chain activities, including purchasing, planning, warehouse, inventory control, and shipment coordination.
• Work with Production, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service and Logistics teams to ensure material availability and smooth production flow.
• Monitor supplier material shortages, delivery status, and production requirements to avoid delays.
• Review and follow up purchase orders, supplier commitments, delivery schedules, and overdue materials.
• Coordinate with warehouse team to ensure proper receiving, storage, issuing, stock accuracy, and cycle count activities.
• Prepare supply chain reports such as shortage list, inventory report, shipment plan, supplier delivery performance, and action tracking.
• Support improvements in material flow, warehouse layout, inventory accuracy, lead times, and process efficiency.
• Lead or support cross-functional resolution of supply chain issues and ensure compliance with procedures and ISO standards.
