Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage supplier performance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives in Kulai, Johor. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.

The candidate should have an engineering degree and at least four years of experience, with strong problem-solving, communication skills, and Mandarin proficiency for supplier discussions in China.

Qualifications

Job description

We are a multi-national company involved developing, manufacturing and marketing for intelligent and ergonomic products, located in I-park Industrial area, Kulai, Johor. We are looking to hire for Supplier Quality Engineer.

You will play an important role in:

1. Supplier Selection and Evaluation

• Assess Supplier Performance
• Track and Report Supplier Performance
• Monitor non-conformance
• Collaborate on Continuous Improvement: Promote continuous improvement initiatives by working with suppliers to implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies
• Quality Audits and Assessments: Perform periodic audits and assessments to ensure suppliers consistently adhere to agreed quality standards

3. Problem Solving and Issue Resolution

• Address Quality Issues
• Coordinate Corrective Actions
• Escalation: When necessary, escalate quality issues to senior management or other departments for resolution.

To succeed in this role, we will need you to have:

• Possess at least a Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• At least 4 year of relevant working experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of quality control techniques, statistical methods (e.g., SPC, MSA), and industry-specific standards.
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex quality issues through root cause analysis.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal teams.
• Mandarin Language Proficiency: Able to communicate effectively in Mandarin as the role requires regular communication and technical discussions with suppliers from China.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple supplier-related projects simultaneously, ensuring the timely delivery of quality products.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in evaluating supplier products and ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems: Familiarity with ISO standards and other relevant quality management systems.
