Job summary

AEM Microtronics in Malaysia seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to support the quality management of products sourced from external suppliers. You will evaluate supplier capabilities, participate in audits, and ensure compliance with ISO quality standards to meet specifications.

The role requires a degree in electrical/electronics/mechatronics, familiarity with Lean and Six-Sigma, and the ability to collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Production and Logistics teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001; audit experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in supplier quality management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Evaluation, participating in supplier assessments and audits to evaluate their capabilities, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Supplier Selection, participating in supplier evaluation process for supporting help in selection process.
• Quality Assurance, implementing quality assurance according to plans, procedures, and controls needs to ensure products meet specifications and requirements. Review non-conformance raised at MRB and work together with engineering team to identify the actual defect by analyses the FA report from suppliers.
• Supplier Development, monitoring and evaluating suppliers' performance through regular quality inspections, data analysis, and quality reports.
• Continuous Improvement: Initiating and driving continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase efficiency.
• Corrective Action, collaborating with suppliers to identify root causes of quality issues and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions. Review CAPA effectiveness, ensure no repeating occurrence.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation related to supplier audits, evaluations, and inspections.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with internal teams, such as Engineering, Procurement, Production, Operation, Logistic to address any supplier-related quality issues and optimize product performance.
• Any ad-hoc duty as assigned by Superior.

Job Requirements

Minimum core qualifications : Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics) or equivalent.

Qualifications (desired) : General understanding in ISO 9001 (quality management system), ISO 14001 (environmental management system), and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management system). Certified Internal/external Auditor prefer.

Types of core skills

(Adv/Skilled/Semi-skilled etc : Familiar in Lean, Six-Sigma, 7 Quality Tools, 8D Report, Quality Control Plan, Lean, Six-sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)

Additional skills (desired)

Interpret engineering mechanical part drawing and assembly drawing. Knowledge of using measuring instruments including CMM, Vision Measurement system, Height Gauge, Profile projector, Caliper, Micrometer, Multimeter. Prefer to have electrical/pneumatic component knowledge.

At least 2 years of working experience in supplier quality management

Ability to motivate and promote people on quality and urgency awareness.

Computer literacy (desired) : MS word, MS excel, SAP

Language proficiency (desired) : Malay and English, Mandarin if any
