Job summary

ICHOR Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd seeks a Supplier Quality Development Engineer to strengthen supplier manufacturing capability, quality, and operational performance in Malaysia. You will work hands-on with suppliers to improve CNC machining processes, perform process audits, root cause investigations, and support new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related.
• 5–7 years in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, supplier development or supplier quality.
• Hands-on experience with CNC milling and turning processes.
• Understanding of machining controls, tooling, fixtures, inspection methods, drawings and GD&T.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, readiness assessments, process validation and continuous improvement.
• Strong root cause analysis, problem solving and corrective action management.
• Ability to work independently, influence suppliers, and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Willingness to travel globally approximately 25–50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop supplier manufacturing capabilities by assessing processes, equipment, tooling, inspection methods and overall process maturity.
• Drive supplier improvement initiatives to strengthen quality, yield, throughput, delivery and manufacturing performance.
• Troubleshoot complex manufacturing and quality issues directly with suppliers through hands-on problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Lead corrective action activities using 8D, DMAIC, FMEA and statistical analysis.
• Conduct supplier process audits and readiness assessments covering processes, controls, equipment, workforce and quality systems.
• Evaluate CNC milling and turning capabilities, including machining processes, tooling, fixtures, controls, drawings and GD&T.
• Support supplier selection and new product introduction activities by evaluating technical capability and manufacturing readiness.
• Drive process validation and qualification activities, including PPAP and FAI, and other supplier quality requirements.
• Partner with internal teams and suppliers to identify manufacturing risks, develop mitigation plans, and support capacity ramp-up.

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Development Engineer to join our Supplier Quality / Engineering team in Malaysia and help strengthen the manufacturing capability, quality, and operational performance of our strategic suppliers.

In this role, you will work closely with suppliers to improve CNC machining processes, solve manufacturing and quality issues, assess supplier readiness, and support new product introductions. You’ll be hands-on with supplier development, process audits, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Develop supplier manufacturing capabilities by assessing processes, equipment, tooling, inspection methods, and overall process maturity

• Support supplier selection and new product introduction activities by evaluating technical capability and manufacturing readiness

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, supplier development, supplier quality, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with precision machining, particularly CNC milling and turning processes
• Good understanding of machining process controls, tooling, fixtures, inspection methods, engineering drawings, and GD&T
• Experience conducting supplier audits, manufacturing readiness assessments, process validation, and continuous improvement activities
• Strong capability in root cause analysis, problem solving, and corrective action management
• Ability to work independently, influence suppliers, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel globally approximately 25–50%, including regular visits to supplier facilities
