Job summary

DKSH is seeking a Transport Operations Supervisor in Klang to supervise day-to-day despatch and local transport planning, ensuring on-time delivery with minimal cost. You will manage fleets, route planning, and vendor commitments while coordinating resources and communicating with customers and suppliers to optimize delivery performance.

The role requires 1–3 years in a similar transport/Logistics role, knowledge of TMS and SAP WM, and proficiency with office tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma/certificate in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar transport/Logistics role.
• Basic knowledge in warehousing, distribution, transport, inventory and supply chain processes.
• Strong understanding of day-to-day running of transport operations.
• Familiarity with network design methodologies and relevant systems.
• Working knowledge of TMS and SAP WM module.
• Experience in transportation and vendor management.
• Proficient in office productivity tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fluency in local language and ideally in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day despatch operations and plan local transport strategies to ensure timely delivery at minimum cost.
• Manage day-to-day operating expenditures against budgets to optimize resource use.
• Prepare transport schedules including modes and routes for daily deliveries.
• Coordinate manpower, trucks and drivers to ensure efficient operations.
• Resolve vendor performance issues and ensure contractual commitments are met.
• Design strategies to optimize truck capacity and reduce cost per unit.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Leverage Transport Management System for scheduling, data management and reporting.
• Provide solutions to operational challenges to boost productivity and minimize costs.
• Handle customer inquiries, requests and delivery/billing queries.

About The Role

Supervise the entire despatch day-to-day operations of local transport strategies and plan to ensure delivery on time with minimum cost. This includes fleet utilization, route planning and vendor service commitments.

What You Will Deliver

• Support superior in managing day-to-day operatingexpenditures against operating budgets to ensureefficient usage of resources.
• Execute local transport strategies, plans and processesto ensure delivery on time with minimum cost, and inalignment with Group's policy.
• Prepare transport schedule including mode and route toensure everyday deliveries (in full and on time).
• Coordinate resources required including manpowerresources, trucks and drivers to ensure efficienttransport operations.
• Coordinate communication and resolve vendors'performance/issue to ensure fulfullment of contractualservice commitments.
• Design and coordinate strategies and plans to optimizetruck capacity (time, cube and weight), delivery on timeand minimizing cost per unit.
• Investigate any incidents and take appropriatecorrective/preventive action promptly.
• Leverage on transport management system (TMS) in scheduling, data management and reporting.
• Provide constructive solutions to operational challenges to enhance productivity and minimize costs.
• Handle customers’ inquiries, requests and complaints related to delivery, billing statements preparations andvalidations.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with vendors, customers and suppliers for optimum deliveryto customers.

What You Bring

• Diploma/certificate in Business Administration, SupplyChain Management, Logistics Management or relatedfield.
• Minimum one to three years’ experience in a similarrole.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge in warehousing,distribution, transport, inventory and supply chainprocesses.
• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of day-to-day running of a transport operation.
• Demonstrate working understanding of network design methodologies and relevant systems.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of transport management system (TMS) and SAP warehouse management (WM) module.
• Proven experience in transportation and vendor management.
• Demonstrate appreciation and respect for cultural sensitivities especially in international/cross-cultural interactionsDemonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrate fluency in local language and ideally inEnglish, both written and spoken.
