Job summary

DKSH is seeking a transport logistics professional to supervise the despatch day-to-day operations, plan deliveries, and optimize route and fleet usage to meet on-time targets with minimal cost.

The role requires coordinating drivers and trucks, managing vendor performance, leveraging a Transport Management System, and maintaining cost-conscious operations while delivering reliable service to customers.

Qualifications

• Diploma/certificate in Business Administration, SupplyChain Management, Logistics Management or related field.
• Minimum one to three years’ experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge in warehousing,distribution, transport, inventory and supply chain processes.
• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of day-to-day running of a transport operation.
• Demonstrate working understanding of network design methodologies and relevant systems.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of transport management system (TMS) and SAP warehouse management (WM) module.
• Proven experience in transportation and vendor management.
• Demonstrate appreciation and respect for cultural sensitivities especially in international/cross-cultural interactionsDemonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrate fluency in local language and ideally inEnglish, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Supervise despatch day-to-day operations and plan delivery with minimum cost.
• Manage day-to-day operating expenditures against budgets to ensure efficient resource usage.
• Execute local transport strategies, plans and processes to ensure delivery on time, at minimum cost, in alignment with Group's policy.
• Prepare transport schedule including mode and route to ensure everyday deliveries (in full and on time).
• Coordinate resources required including manpower resources, trucks and drivers to ensure efficient transport operations.
• Coordinate communication and resolve vendors' performance/issues to ensure fulfilment of contractual service commitments.
• Design and coordinate strategies and plans to optimize truck capacity (time, cube and weight), delivery on time and minimizing cost per unit.
• Investigate any incidents and take appropriate corrective/preventive action promptly.
• Leverage on transport management system (TMS) in scheduling, data management and reporting.
• Provide constructive solutions to operational challenges to enhance productivity and minimize costs.
• Handle customers' inquiries, requests and complaints related to delivery, billing statements preparations and validations.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with vendors, customers and suppliers for optimum delivery to customers.
