Job summary

Hirehub Group is seeking a qualified QA/QC Engineer to monitor fabrication and on-site installation of structural steel works across projects in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru. You will review drawings and specifications, ensure welding and connections meet standards, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and teams.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Structural/Civil Engineering with 3–5 years' relevant experience, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related discipline
• 3–5 years' experience in structural steel works, fabrication, installation, or construction QC
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and technical specifications
• Knowledge of welding, bolted connections, coating, corrosion protection, and installation tolerances
• Experience with QA/QC procedures and relevant certifications (ISO 9001, welding, or NDT) is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Monitor fabrication and on-site installation to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards
• Review structural drawings, construction methods and technical documents for proper welding and connections
• Conduct site inspections, identify quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and project teams
• Ensure structural steel works meet safety, quality and engineering requirements
• Maintain inspection records, test reports and as-built documentation
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and construction teams to resolve technical and quality issues
