Job summary

DCT Engineering SDN BHD in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan is seeking a Structural Drafter to join our engineering team. You will translate concepts into detailed CAD drawings, prepare plans, elevations, sections, and BOMs, and ensure compliance with Malaysian codes.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, review drawings for accuracy, maintain project documentation, and support construction and tender packages while building your expertise in structural drafting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or Tekla Structures.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes (MS 1228 or equivalent).
• Experience in structural drafting or similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with BIM would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural drawings (plans, elevations, sections, connection details) using CAD.
• Convert sketches, calculations, and specifications into accurate drawings.
• Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and code compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to meet drawing requirements.
• Maintain and update project drawing files and documentation.
• Incorporate revisions directed by senior engineers.
• Prepare bill of materials and scheduling information from drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with Malaysian building regulations.
• Assist in preparing construction documents and tender packages.
• Support project teams during design and construction phases.
