Job summary

DCT Engineering SDN BHD in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan is seeking a Structural Drafter to join our engineering team. You will translate concepts into detailed CAD drawings, prepare plans, elevations, sections, and BOMs, and ensure compliance with Malaysian codes.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, review drawings for accuracy, maintain project documentation, and support construction and tender packages while building your expertise in structural drafting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or Tekla Structures.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes (MS 1228 or equivalent).
• Experience in structural drafting or similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with BIM would be advantageous.

DCT Engineering SDN BHD is seeking a talented Structural Drafter to join our engineering team on a full-time basis in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and documentation that form the foundation of structural engineering projects. As a Structural Drafter, you will work closely with senior engineers and architects to translate conceptual designs into precise, comprehensive drawings that guide construction and fabrication processes. This position is crucial to ensuring that all structural projects are executed accurately, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and building regulations.

What you'll be doing

Prepare detailed structural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and connection details using computer-aided design (CAD) software

Convert engineering sketches, calculations, and specifications into accurate technical drawings

Review and verify drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with engineering standards and building codes

Collaborate with structural engineers and other design professionals to ensure drawing requirements are met

Maintain and update drawing files and project documentation in an organised manner

Incorporate revisions and modifications to drawings as directed by senior engineers

Prepare bill of materials and scheduling information from structural drawings

Ensure all drawings comply with relevant Malaysian building regulations and industry standards

Assist in the preparation of construction documents and tender packages

Support project teams during design development and construction phases

What we're looking for

Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field would be advantageous.

Proficiency in structural CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar programmes

Strong understanding of structural design principles, building codes, and construction practices

Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation

Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Knowledge of Malaysian building codes and regulations (such as MS 1228 or equivalent)

Previous experience in structural drafting or a similar role in an engineering consultancy is preferred

Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software would be advantageous
