Job summary

Mohd Asbi Associates Sdn Bhd is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to perform design and analysis for RC, steel, and composite structures. You will handle private and government projects, prepare detailed drawings, analyses, and reports, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure quality and adherence to codes.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, proficiency in major structural software, and fluency in English and Malay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of working experience with Consultants in structural engineering.
• Proficiency with Staad Pro, Orion, Esteem, Tekla Structure.
• AutoCAD and Revit knowledge is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English and Malay is required.
• Willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Perform structural design and analysis for RC, Steel and Composite Codes of Practice.
• Undertake structural design for both private and government projects.
• Prepare design analyses, structural drawings, technical reports and design calculation reports.
• Liaise and coordinate effectively with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, Specialists and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure all engineering works adhere to company procedures, quality standards and best industry practices.
• Overseeing project stages from preliminary layouts to final engineering designs.
• Review and ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, relevant standards, UBBL and applicable Codes of Practice.
• Willing to travel outside the Klang Valley to attend project meetings, site visits and other project-related activities.
• Maintain proper project documentation, records and timesheets in accordance with the company's ISO management system.
• Any ad-hoc tasks that may be needed or assigned by Management from time to time.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil).
• 3 to 5 years of working experience with Consultants in the structural engineering work .
• Proficient in structural analysis software such as Staad Pro, Orion, Esteem, Tekla Structure, etc.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken in English and Malay.
• In-depth knowledge of structural engineering and construction specifications, standards and latest codes of practice.
• Capable to operate AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit is an advantage.
• Know ledge and project experience in BIM will be an advantage.
• Possess high capabilities in planning and coordination with variety of internal and external parties.
• Able to coordinate with other fellow engineers and drafter to accomplish fast track projects within tight schedules.
• Independent, willing to work extra hours and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision to fulfill deadlines.
