Job summary

Nexperia in Seremban, Malaysia is seeking a Strip Test Engineer to maintain, optimize, and develop backend testing and strip-handling processes for semiconductor products using strip handlers.

You will focus on yield improvement, equipment reliability, and defect reduction, analyze root causes of test failures with SPC methods, and work with maintenance teams, vendors, and vision systems. This role requires hands-on problem solving and SOP/risk documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
• 5+ years in semiconductor backend manufacturing, FT/Tape & Reel experience.
• Familiarity with ATE and strip-handling machines.
• Solid understanding of SPC and GR&R.
• Proficient in data analysis using Minitab, JMP, or advanced Excel.
• Experience with root-cause analysis frameworks such as 8D or Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, optimize, and develop backend strip testing processes.
• Reduce yield loss and test escapes through data-driven improvements.
• Collaborate with maintenance, vendors, and vision systems on equipment.
• Develop and update SOPs, process travelers, and PFMEA.
• Train operators and technicians on new processes and troubleshooting.
