Job summary

Nexperia in Malaysia is seeking a Process & Equipment Engineer (Trim & Form) to drive reliability, performance and continuous improvement of trim and form operations in a high‑volume semiconductor environment.

You will maintain and optimize trim and form equipment across package types, monitor downtime with MTBF/MTBA analysis, and collaborate with R&D, product design and reliability to ensure equipment readiness for high‑volume manufacturing, while mentoring technicians in a 24/7 setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
1–2 years in semiconductor industry with at least 1 year in trim and form equipment.
Hands-on experience with trim and form machines in semiconductor packaging.
Understanding of tooling design, material properties, GD&T, tolerances, and metrology.
Proficiency in JMP and Minitab for statistical analysis and strong documentation.
Leadership experience guiding technicians in a 24/7 environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and optimize trim and form equipment across package types.
Monitor downtime and perform MTBF/MTBA analysis.
Collaborate with Process Engineering during new product development and qualification.
Develop, maintain, and update control plans, process specs, SOPs, FMEAs, and reports.
Plan technician headcount for 24/7 operations and provide updates.
Mentor technicians and set KPI expectations and evaluations.
Work with R&D, NPI, Product Design, and Reliability to align equipment with requirements.
Diagnose and resolve equipment, tooling, and process defects impacting yield.
Support transfers and ramp-up to high-volume manufacturing.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage spare parts inventory.
