Job summary

UST Global SM (UST) seeks a Supply Chain Officer (Purchasing/Planning) in Penang to manage material purchasing and planning activities. Responsibilities include ERP-driven purchase orders, stock replenishment analysis, and expediting orders with vendors to meet production needs.

The role requires strong inventory control knowledge, English proficiency, and experience in contract manufacturing environments. You will collaborate with customers and KAE on consignments and ensure SOP adherence.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Business or Materials Management; degree considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and procurement processes.
• Proficient in English; able to negotiate with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Experience in contract manufacturing environments preferred.
• ERP systems experience (BaaN, SAP, Infor LN) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials based on ERP system requirements.
• Analyze stock replenishment impact across the material planning chain.
• Issue and manage Purchase Orders; update vendor confirmations.
• Monitor and expedite outstanding orders; liaise with vendors for replacements.
• Update costing for customer consignments; interface with customers on consigned stock.
• Plan production and subcontracting; obtain quotes from sub-contractors.
• Maintain inventory control aligned with business objectives and SOPs.
