TECAN is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen the supplier network across Asia, ensuring quality and driving improvements.
You will monitor supplier performance, lead audits, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions.
Support TECAN’s sourcing and related activities in Asia with the goal of building up and strengthening the supplier network. Ensure consistent supplier quality in delivered materials and associated processes. Cover sourcing requirements from Development (projects) and Operations (series production).
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for reducing the number of NCRs, Complaints and OOB caused by supplier errors. Continuous improvement of quality at the suppliers and continuous improvement of industrialization and engineering in product design.
Additionally, the SQE assists the Strategic Supply Chain Manager in building a resilient supplier network to support both regional and global supply chain operations.
Quality assurance including resolution of NCR’s (Non-Conformity Reports)
Monitor supplier performance (based on KPI monitoring)
Minimize supply related cost of poor quality
Lead and facilitate supplier development programs with strategic & critical suppliers
Improve overall supply base performance, including on-time delivery
Support achievement of product development milestones along product life cycle
Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing) to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions.
Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for supplier-related quality issues.
Collaborate with suppliers to implement process improvements and preventive measures.
Review and approve supplier-provided documentation, such as PPAP, FAI, and certificates of analysis.
Conduct/Support supplier audits as per Tecan’s requirements and audit plans and follows corrective and preventive actions.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or a similar role. Preferably in a multinational environment.
In-depth understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485 etc.)
Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA)
Knowledge of statistical analysis and process control (SPC, MSA, control charts)
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards
Strong data analysis skills, including use of Excel, Minitab, or similar statistical software.
