Job summary

PERSOL is seeking a proactive Procurement and Sourcing professional in Malaysia to develop and execute strategies for mechanical and custom-engineered components. You will identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to meet quality, cost, delivery, and capacity goals, while leading negotiations and audits.

Collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and NPI teams will be essential to support production requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, or technical procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of precision machined components, sheet metal, fabricated assemblies, and related manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical and custom-engineered components.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers to achieve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional suppliers.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, lead times, and commercial agreements.
• Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and supplier performance reviews.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and NPI teams to support business and production requirements.
• Review technical drawings and specifications to support supplier selection, cost analysis, and feasibility assessments.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mitigate supply chain risks through effective sourcing and supplier management strategies.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance through key cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
