Job summary

IKA Works (Asia) Sdn Bhd seeks a Procurement Specialist to source and negotiate materials for Manufacturing. You will evaluate quotations and suppliers, create cost comparisons, and drive cost-saving projects while ensuring supplier quality and delivery targets.

The role requires a Mechanical/Mechatronics background, 3–4 years in sourcing, and ability to read drawings. English and Malay communication is essential; SAP knowledge is an advantage, with travel as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3–4 years of sourcing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
• Good communication in English and Malay.
• Familiar with SAP is an added advantage.
• Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate and purchase materials and components from local and overseas vendors for designated products.
• Evaluate vendor quotations to ensure alignment with technical and commercial specifications.
• Create quotation comparison lists to assess cost, delivery, and quality.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery time, and cost.
• Conduct localization/cost savings projects.
• Assist QC and Production on parts quality and specifications.
• Support and participate in New Supplier Development Activities.
• Visit new and existing vendors locally and overseas for part progress and documentation checks.
• Assist in additional tasks upon request by superior.
