Job summary

IKA – Laboratory, Analytical and Process Technology in Rawang seeks a proactive procurement specialist to manage sourcing of electronic components and services for PCBA projects. You will evaluate suppliers, process quotes, and negotiate terms to ensure cost efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years in procurement, engineering familiarity with PCBA, and strong Excel skills, with travel as needed to support international suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years in sourcing or procurement for PCBA/electrical/electronic parts.
• Able to read PCBA schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong MS Excel skills; travel readiness.
• Familiarity with SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source and select qualified electronic components, raw materials and services from local and international suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers for PCBA components including PCBs, semiconductors, passive components, and mechanical parts.
• Process quotations and follow up with vendors for direct or indirect procurement.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and supply agreements to achieve cost savings and reliability.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Inform suppliers of ECNs and drawing revisions.
• Assist in vendor statistics and cost analysis reporting and update sourcing database.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and selection of qualified electronic components, raw materials and services from local and international suppliers
• Identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers for PCBA components including PCBs, semiconductors, passive components, and mechanical parts based on technical capability, quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and delivery timelines
• Process quotations and follow up with vendors for direct or indirect procurement
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and supply agreement to achieve cost savings and supply reliability
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities and cost structure to identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Notify supplier on Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and new drawing revision.
• Assist in vendor statistics report, forecast report, material cost analysis report, other reporting formats and update sourcing database

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics/ Electrical Engineering
• 3 to 5 years of working experience in sourcing or procurement for PCBA/ Electrical/ Electronic parts
• Able to read and understand PCBA, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Good understanding of PCBA components and global supplier markets
• Good in MS Excel
• Willing to travel frequently
• Understand in Material Planning Management (MRP) & familiar with SAP is an added advantage
