Job summary

Leader Energy is seeking an Executive/Senior Executive, Business Development to drive growth across Malaysia. The role focuses on building a stable pipeline of utility-scale solar projects from inception to close, while maintaining ongoing client and stakeholder relationships.

You will source opportunities, market Solar PV, develop proposals, and coordinate with cross-functional teams including technical, legal, and finance to deliver bankable bids and successful PPAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in solar/RE markets.
• 3–5 years in BD, sales, or project origination in solar/renewables.
• Fresh graduates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure solar/RE opportunities for C&I across Malaysia.
• Build relationships with govt agencies, IPPs, corporates, and investors.
• Monitor policy shifts and incentives to align strategies.
• Assist feasibility studies for bankable proposals.
• Develop partnerships with EPCs, financiers, and tech providers.
• Assist tender bids and negotiate offtake agreements.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with technical, legal, and finance teams.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
• Track KPIs and report market trends.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
• Mentor junior BD/sales teams on market dynamics.
• Coordinate post-deal handover to project execution teams.
• Monitor competitor activity and emerging technologies.
• ESG reporting support with sustainability metrics.
