Job summary

Smartlink Engineering Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian contract manufacturing and engineering company serving the semiconductor and high-technology industries, is seeking a responsible Purchasing Executive to support daily purchasing activities and ensure materials and components are available for production.

The role involves handling PO preparation, supplier quotations, price and delivery coordination, monitoring POs, and ensuring compliance with company procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, preferably in manufacturing or engineering.
• Good communication and negotiation skills; strong follow-up and coordination abilities.
• Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily purchasing activities, including quotation, PO preparation and supplier follow-up.
• Source and obtain quotations from suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Liaise with suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules, product availability and other purchasing matters.
• Monitor outstanding POs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Planning and other departments to meet material needs.
• Follow up on delayed, short or incorrect deliveries and resolve supplier issues.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier information and related documentation.
• Assist in supplier evaluation and cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and requirements.
