Job summary

PT RESOURCES HOLDINGS BERHAD is seeking a seasoned Purchasing & Merchandising leader to develop and implement strategies aligned with sales, profitability, inventory, and working capital goals.

You will lead and coach the Purchasing & Merchandising team, optimize supplier terms, manage assortments, monitor stock performance, and collaborate with Retail, Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Marketing to ensure effective product, pricing and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Merchandising, Retail Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and strengthen the Purchasing & Merchandising team, including review of roles, responsibilities, processes, KPIs and individual performance.
• Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation, selection, relationships and commercial negotiations, including purchase prices, payment terms, rebates, promotional support, MOQ and other trading terms.
• Monitor purchasing costs, market prices and supplier competitiveness, and identify cost-saving and margin-improvement opportunities.
• Develop and manage product assortment and category strategies based on customer demand, market trends, sales performance, profitability and inventory productivity.
• Oversee inventory planning and replenishment to maintain product availability while minimising overstock, shortages, ageing and obsolete inventory.
• Optimise purchase quantities, supplier terms and inventory levels to improve working capital efficiency and cash conversion.
• Support the development and expansion of house brand / private label products, including identification of suitable product opportunities, suppliers and OEM partners.
