Job summary

SmartHire by SEEK is seeking a Purchasing Manager (Sheet Metal Industry) to lead a seven-person team responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier development and purchasing across sheet metal, stamping, machining and related components.

You will own cost, quality, delivery and supply continuity, collaborating with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Finance to align purchasing with business goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing
• Strong sourcing, supplier development and supplier evaluation experience
• Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain practices
• Leadership experience with the ability to develop staff
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office
• Mandarin and English language skills for supplier communications

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and purchasing for sheet metal, stamping, machining, electrical components and raw materials
• Build and develop local and overseas supplier base for price, quality and delivery
• Conduct market research, cost analysis and supplier benchmarking to drive savings
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Finance
• Review requisitions and quotes to select best sourcing options
• Ensure supply continuity and mitigate material availability risks
• Maintain and improve purchasing procedures and supplier evaluation systems
• Lead and develop the Purchasing team and track KPIs
