Job summary

Autoliv Hirotako Safety Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a proactive Procurement Engineer to manage sourcing and purchasing activities across local and overseas suppliers. The company is a joint venture between MBM Resources Group and Autoliv, a world leader in automotive safety.

You will plan yearly commodity strategies to achieve cost savings, maintain supplier relationships, lead APQP activities and change management, and ensure compliance with purchasing policies.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Materials/Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical
• Candidates without an Engineering degree but relevant experience will be considered
• Minimum 1 year experience in purchasing preferable in manufacturing environment or technical purchasing; fresh graduates encouraged
• Knowledge in purchasing processes such as supplier audit, supplier APQP, and costing; and
• Good interpersonal, negotiation and strong analytical problem-solving skill
• Strong commitment to ethical purchasing practices and compliance with company policies

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all sourcing and purchasing activities
• Plan and implement yearly commodity strategy to achieve company cost savings target
• Coordinate and execute purchasing activities for local and overseas suppliers
• Manage supplier relationships, development, performance and evaluation
• Lead supplier APQP activities and change management
• Good ethics in purchasing and comply with purchasing policies and procedures
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers
• Assist any other duties assigned from time to time by the superior and management when needed
