Job summary

MVC Resources in Malaysia is seeking a Procurement/Materials Manager to supervise day-to-day operations of a small buyer team, train and monitor performance, and implement procurement systems to drive efficiency.

The role requires strong SAP knowledge, 5+ years in manufacturing, and experience in semiconductor or contract manufacturing environments. Collaboration with internal teams is essential for aligning procurement with company goals.

Qualifications

• In Business or Engineering or Purchasing/Planning; 5+ years in manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of SAP.
• Experience as a buyer in semiconductor or contract manufacturer environment.
• Manage a group of direct material buyers or lead a commodity group.
• Familiar with procurement systems and procedures.
• Raise recommendations to improve communication and efficiency.
• Vendor and inventory management knowledge.
• Analytical mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Power BI, Tableau or Macro experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree in Business Administration / Purchasing / Logistics / Material Management or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day operations of assigned team members, providing guidance, scheduling tasks, and ensuring work output meets quality and performance standards.
• Manage a small team of buyers, train, support, and monitor each buyer’s performance and compliance to company guidelines.
• Has authority to issue warnings and recommend disciplinary actions, including escalations to HR or higher management when needed.
• Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Educate suppliers of performance measurements and continuous improvements.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals
• Evaluates and monitor supplier quality and delivery performance against corporate zero defects and on time delivery objectives together with smooth logistic requirements and work with related team to improve the performance.
• Develops a good working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quantity and quality requirements and within established standard costs.
