Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Knowledge of electronic components is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control, material planning and production planning is preferred.
• Good communication skills, with strong planning, coordination and follow-up abilities.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an advantage for dealing with suppliers in China.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, packaging materials and other production requirements
• Request quotations and compare price, quality, lead time, MOQ and payment terms
• Negotiate with suppliers, issue Purchase Orders (PO) and follow up closely on delivery status
• Monitor stock levels, identify material shortages and plan material requirements
• Coordinate with production team, prepare and update production schedules
• Work with engineering/R&D to verify technical specifications and suitability of alternative components
• Monitor production progress and highlight possible delays
• Maintain purchasing, supplier and planning records
• Support cost reduction and inventory control activities
• Manage material purchases and coordinate with account/finance for payment and record-keeping
