Job summary

Cohu Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an OEM Commodity Management Manager to shape and lead supplier strategy, ensuring a resilient, high-performing supply network for test and inspection handler growth. The role focuses on managing supplier structure, capabilities, and partnerships to optimize total cost, supply assurance, and time-to-ramp.

The ideal candidate will drive spend analysis, market research, and alignment of commodity strategies with stakeholders, while implementing supplier agreements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement leadership roles.
• Proven track record in contract manufacturing operations and supplier negotiations.
• Experience in multinational environments with complex supply chains.
• Strong strategic and analytical capabilities.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a must.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead supplier strategy for OEM parts and assigned commodities.
• Plan, execute and monitor department milestones according to department goals.
• Identify training needs and organize relevant training for the commodity management team.
• Oversee the sourcing of new requirements for OEM parts and assigned commodities.
• Be the escalation path for assigned suppliers for other groups (Purchasing, Quality).
• Drive spends analysis of direct and indirect spending of OEM parts and assigned commodities.
• Market research updates for relevant commodities.
• Develop and align commodity strategies with key stakeholders.
• Implement supplier strategies and agreements to support business needs.
• Lead supplier relationship and engagement for assigned OEM suppliers.
• Drive and continuously improve performance measurement and review process.
• Implement sourcing strategies to achieve quality, cost savings and lead time targets.
• Set up a cost savings program and drive defined goals.
