Job summary

Opulent is seeking an MRP/Materials Planning professional in Penang to analyze forecasts for accuracy and drive inventory improvements within a lean manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring timely material delivery, coordinating shortages, and collaborating with internal teams on replenishment policies to reduce costs.

The successful candidate will proactively identify risks, propose actionable solutions, and implement them to maintain smooth production flows and service levels.

Responsibilities

• Analyze MRP generated forecasts on reasonableness and accuracy.
• Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs in order to support lean manufacturing activities.
• Act as a focal point and monitor assigned areas to ensure material delivery dates meet production needs.
• Identify and coordinate advance notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages.
• Analyze data and collaborate with internal customers to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment policies.
• Anticipate potential problems and risks, and generates ideas, insight and solutions to resolve or “head off” potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
