Inter Island Group is seeking a technically minded Procurement Sourcing Engineer to lead strategic sourcing of HV/EHV electrical equipment for turnkey power grid projects in Malaysia. The role covers local and international supply chains for transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, cables, and substation systems.

You will source, pre-qualify, onboard manufacturers and OEMs, and build a robust supplier database to support long-lead equipment procurement.

Qualificações

• Experience in sourcing HV/EHV electrical equipment for large utilities or EPC projects.
• Ability to review schematics, SLDs, and technical specs for procurement input.
• Proven track record in supplier onboarding, pre-qualification, and audits.
• Strong negotiation skills for multi-currency terms, warranties, and delivery schedules.
• Familiarity with Malaysian market and global OEMs, with travel to sites as required.

Responsabilidades

• Source and pre-qualify global and local manufacturers and sub-contractors for HV/EHV equipment.
• Build and maintain a supplier database with long-lead equipment such as transformers and switchgear.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs, conduct bid evaluations, and lead commercial negotiations.
• Coordinate logistics and heavy-haul planning from ports to substations, monitoring FAT schedules.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, CIDB standards, and international utility frameworks.
