Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to act as a core technical authority for our power projects. You will lead development and evaluation of EHV, HV, and MV substation and network designs, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.

Reporting to the directors, you will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with clients and utility providers, and drive continuous improvement in design processes and templates across projects.

Qualifications

• Malaysian citizen with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical power engineering, with strong practical expertise in HV systems, substations, grid connections, and power system studies.
• Registered with BEM as at least a Graduate Engineer in the Electrical discipline (Professional Engineer status is highly advantageous).
• Proven track record in the design, engineering, and technical review of HV/MV systems and associated equipment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Previous exposure to TNB or other major utility-related projects is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

• Execute, coordinate, and review complex substation designs, engineering calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Provide expert technical guidance to engineers and Project Managers regarding design approaches, assumptions, and the interpretation of technical requirements.
• Participate actively in technical coordination and troubleshooting with clients, utility providers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Support comprehensive project lifecycles, including tender submissions, technical proposals, site investigations, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Drive the continuous improvement of in-house engineering practices, design templates, technical references, and quality-checking processes.
