Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems AB, based in Malaysia, seeks a seasoned Financial Accountant to lead forecasting, budgeting, general ledger, tax, payroll and governance within the Australasia/Malaysia finance framework. You will partner with regional teams to deliver accurate management reports and ensure compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in financial accounting, strong IFRS knowledge, and hands-on payroll/tax experience, with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA qualification desirable.
• 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS, AASB, ATO obligations and Australian corporate tax.
• Hands-on with BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax and WorkCover compliance.
• Strong payroll knowledge including superannuation and entitlements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fortnightly sales forecast and support quarterly forecast cycles and the annual budget process, documenting assumptions and explaining variances.
• Prepare internal management reports and group submissions, and support statutory and external reporting obligations.
• Manage reconciliations, journals, accruals and balance sheet maintenance, and review and finalise month-end and year-end close.
• Manage BAS and payroll tax lodgements, and support IAS, FBT, transfer pricing and other tax obligations, liaising with group tax and external advisors.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll in line with Fair Work and relevant Modern Awards, including superannuation, leave and entitlements.
• Prepare for internal and external audits and strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks.
• Support oversight of AP and AR, and help guide junior and offshore finance team members.
• Partner with local, regional and group stakeholders as a key point of contact for finance queries and ad hoc analysis.
• Drive process improvements and maintain SOP documentation for key finance workflows.
• Support company secretarial obligations and governance compliance across APAC entities.
