About the role
We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to play a key role in financial planning, reporting and performance management across SKIDATA Australasia and Malaysia. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Finance and Administration APAC, you\'ll own a broad remit covering forecasting, budgeting, general ledger, tax, payroll and governance. This is a genuinely hands-on role where your insights will directly shape business decisions.
What you\'ll do
- Manage the fortnightly sales forecast and support quarterly forecast cycles and the annual budget process, documenting assumptions and explaining variances.
- Prepare internal management reports and group submissions, and support statutory and external reporting obligations.
- Manage reconciliations, journals, accruals and balance sheet maintenance, and review and finalise month-end and year-end close.
- Manage BAS and payroll tax lodgements, and support IAS, FBT, transfer pricing and other tax obligations, liaising with group tax and external advisors.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll in line with Fair Work and relevant Modern Awards, including superannuation, leave and entitlements.
- Prepare for internal and external audits and strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks.
- Support oversight of AP and AR, and help guide junior and offshore finance team members.
- Partner with local, regional and group stakeholders as a key point of contact for finance queries and ad hoc analysis.
- Drive process improvements and maintain SOP documentation for key finance workflows.
- Support company secretarial obligations and governance compliance across APAC entities.
What you\'ll bring
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA qualification desirable.
- At least 5 years\' experience in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, AASB, ATO obligations and Australian corporate tax.
- Hands-on experience with BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax and WorkCover compliance.
- Strong payroll knowledge, including superannuation and employee entitlements.
- Experience with audits, internal controls and corporate governance frameworks.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems and BI tools.
- Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication, a collaborative style and a proactive, can-do attitude.
