Job summary

ELSA Cost Controller role in Malaysia requires monitoring and controlling project costs, preparing reports and forecasts, tracking expenditures, and ensuring alignment with budgets. You will support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, while reviewing invoices and cost transactions for accuracy and proper allocation.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field, with experience in cost control, budgeting, and ERP systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in cost control, project controls, financial reporting, or a related field.
• Good understanding of budgeting, cost monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Experience using cost management, procurement, or enterprise systems such as SAP / SAP ECC6, SMART GEP, PMP SAP system.
• Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets and financial targets.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and analysis to support project management decision-making.
• Track project expenditures, commitments, and actual costs within relevant systems.
• Perform cost analysis and identify budget variances, risks, or potential cost issues.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare cost-related reports, presentations, and updates for stakeholders.
• Review purchase requests, invoices, and cost transactions to ensure accuracy and proper allocation.
• Support project teams in cost optimisation initiatives and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate cost records and ensure compliance with company procedures and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders on cost-related matters.
