About the role

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our retail store located in Johor Bahru District, Johor. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, maintaining operational excellence, and creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. As Store Manager, you will manage all aspects of store operations, including staff leadership, inventory management, visual merchandising, and budget control. This position is crucial to achieving our retail objectives and represents a key leadership opportunity within our retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of retail staff, ensuring high levels of motivation, engagement and performance
• Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators through effective sales strategies and staff supervision
• Oversee daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and till reconciliation
• Manage inventory levels, stock rotation, ordering and receiving to ensure optimal stock availability and minimise shrinkage
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and implement promotional displays to maximise sales and enhance the customer experience
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, health and safety regulations, and local legislation
• Monitor and control store budgets, expenses and profitability to meet financial targets
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly
• Conduct staff training, performance reviews and disciplinary procedures as required
• Analyse sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and implement improvements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Store Manager or similar retail management position with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff at all levels
• Excellent sales acumen and a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
• Proficiency in retail management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and manage budgets effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with customers and staff
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and retail best practices
• Fluency in English and Malay is preferred; additional language skills are an advantage
• Flexibility to work retail hours including weekends, evenings and public holidays as required
