Job description

Job Responsibilities:

1. Supervise, operate, manage and maintain the steam boiler according to standard operation procedure (SOP) and JKKP standard.
2. Plan for Machineries / facilities PM and JKKP inspection schedule. Maintenance of boilers and associated equipment according to PM program.
3. Troubleshooting as required to minimize downtime. Ensure full compliance to safety procedure, hygiene procedures and 5S execution.
4. Housekeeping of boiler house and its surrounding area as to 5S requirement. Monitor and ensure the boiler’s daily operation log is updated promptly and accurately.
5. Provide relevant report on utility performance and maintenance. Maintenance Records are to be executed as per detailed in SOPs.
6. Maintains good record-keeping and retrieval. Report writing and keeping of log book. Manage and provide support to utility supervisors and technicians on day to day operation.
7. Understanding of the principles and theory of a natural gas supply, boiler assembly, and steam generation, distribution system, boiler design, installation codes, and safe working practices related to natural gas, steam and its hazards.
8. Organize and conduct job trainings to enhance the skills and competency of boilerman. Perform shift-duty roster as scheduled for Boilers and facilities activities.
9. Perform and execute any task / assignment as deemed necessary by Superior. On call duty after working hours.

Requirements:

1. Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Must possess at least 2nd Grade Steam Engineer certification by JKKP.
3. Good working exposure in steam boiler operation and maintenance.
4. Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
5. Knowledge of steam supply system in manufacturing processes including knowledge of Department of Safety & Health (DOSH) safety and regulatory requirements.
6. Strong leadership skills and is results oriented.
