Job summary

Onsemi is seeking a PSG Power Products & Test Development Engineer in Malaysia to join a cross-functional team. You will collaborate with product engineering and manufacturing test teams to enable new product development and seamless transfer to mass production across multiple sites.

You will develop and implement test software and hardware for high voltage, high power devices, lead test solution implementations, and perform thorough product characterization to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical, Electronics or Physics.
• Proficient English (spoken and written).
• 5+ years hands-on experience in semiconductor test and/or product engineering.
• Experience with high power semiconductors preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IGBT, MOSFET, Rectifiers and gate drivers.
• Experience with ETS high power test platforms or multi-site environments is a plus.
• Hands-on with bench test equipment (power supply, oscilloscope, function generator, curve tracer).
• Experience in dynamic testing of power semiconductors is advantageous.
• Proficient in Visual C++.
• Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Team player with cross-location collaboration; good interpersonal skills.
• Project management capabilities.

PSG Power Products & Test Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work together with Product Engineering team and manufacturing test engineering team to support new product development and its smooth transition to mass production in multiple manufacturing sites.
• Develop and implement test software & hardware for high voltage, high power semiconductor module and discrete, primarily in the area of final test
• Lead engineer for test solution implementation in mass production
• Perform product characterization
• Support customer related activities as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Physics.
• Good oral and written English language.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience in semiconductor test and/or product engineering. Experienced in high power semiconductor is preferred.
• Strong knowledge on power semiconductors such as IGBT, MOSFET, Rectifiers and gate drivers.
• Experienced in ETS high power test platforms or equivalent in multi-site environment is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with bench test equipment such as power supply, oscilloscope, function generator and curve tracer for the purpose of debugging
• Experience in dynamic testing of power semiconductors is an added advantage
• Good programming skills in Visual C++.
• Computer literacy in MS Office, Power Point, Excel and Word.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills and able to work efficiently with multi-functional groups across different locations.
