Job summary

Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab). The role involves providing safe nursing care and assisting in cardiac catheterisation and related procedures in a busy clinical area.

The successful candidate will support in both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures and must communicate effectively with patients and families while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing recognised by the Malaysian Nursing Board.
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in Cath Lab or cardiac procedures is advantageous.
• Willingness to perform on-call duties or extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac catheterisation, coronary angiography, angioplasty and pacemaker implantation procedures.
• Perform and assist with non-invasive procedures such as ECG.
• Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Ensure patient identification and consent are completed prior to procedures.
• Monitor patients and maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
• Ensure infection control practices are followed at all times.
• Explain procedures and treatment to patients and family members.
• Ensure equipment and instruments are maintained in good working condition.
• Assist in emergency resuscitation and perform crash cart checks as required.
• Maintain proper inventory, supplies and documentation within the unit.
• Participate in training, quality improvement and departmental activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Staff Nurse to join our Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) team. The role is responsible for providing safe and quality nursing care and assisting in cardiac catheterisation and other related procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in cardiac catheterisation, coronary angiography, angioplasty and pacemaker implantation procedures.

Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
