Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital seeks an experienced registered nurse to deliver professional nursing care in the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory. You will assist with angiography procedures, ensure patient safety, coordinate care with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Post Basic qualification in a related field.
• Bachelor’s in nursing or Bachelors in Cardiovascular Technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in line with the organisation’s Vision and Mission Statements and Nursing Services scope.
• Work shifts or duties as assigned by Unit Manager or Assistant Unit Manager.
• Inform Unit Manager of changes in circumstances affecting patient care.
• Participate in planning, development and evaluation of Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory facilities and services.
• Provide health education to cardiac patients and their families in the ward or Critical Care Services.
• Assess patients’ conditions and compare findings with reports.
• Report abnormal findings to the Cardiologist.
• Discuss procedural approach with the Cardiologist.
• Ensure Cath Lab is clean and ready for next patient.
• Record all cases in the Cath Lab Record Book.
• Prepare for angiography procedures as scheduled.
• Arrange transportation of patients before and after procedures.
• Check Cath Lab charges for completeness and accuracy.
• Liaise with doctors and consultants on patient care matters.
• Assist with other services requiring specialised technical support.
• Maintain effective communication with healthcare teams and patients.
• Attend unit meetings and hospital activities.
• Carry out assignments scheduled by Unit Manager or Chief Nursing Officer and provide feedback.
