Job summary

FLEXTRONICS TECHNOLOGY (PENANG) SDN BHD in Prai, Penang, is seeking a Staff Industrial Engineer to support our growing product outputs. The role focuses on leading a team of engineers and technicians, establishing work measurement standards and optimizing labor utilization to drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluates work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.
• Develops management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
• Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
• Designs or improves systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, and defines the most efficient plant locations.
• Organizes details into a broad view of the total operations and organization of Flex.
• Partners with other engineering team members to design manufacturable new products.
• Manages initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.
• Implements HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a StaffIndustrial Engineer located inPrai, Penang.

What a typical day looks like:

• Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluates work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
• May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation
• Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
• Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
• Organizes details into a broad view of the total operations and organization of Flex.
• Partners with other engineering team members to design manufacturable new products
• Manages initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training. A Master's or MBA Degree is preferred.
