Job summary

Pure Gas Engineering Sdn. Bhd is seeking a Safety Site Supervisor to ensure site operations meet safety, health, environmental, legal, and company requirements.

The role involves identifying hazards, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture. You will liaise with authorities such as DOE, DOSH, BOMBA, and provide training, maintain records, and support management with risk assessments and investigations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
• 2–4 years' experience in safety, health, or environmental management.
• Registered as Yellow Book / SHO trainee; eligible to obtain Green Book certification.
• Holder of Site Safety Supervisor certificate.
• Knowledge of Malaysian OSH regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily site operations comply with safety, health, environmental, legal, and company requirements.
• Identify and mitigate workplace hazards and risks at site.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure safety compliance.
• Investigate incidents and accidents; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide safety training sessions and campaigns to promote awareness.
• Liaise with DOE, DOSH, BOMBA and local authorities; maintain good relationships.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety plans and procedures; adjust as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety matters.
• Stay updated on emerging safety trends and best practices.

Job description

The Safety Site Supervisor (SSS) is responsible for ensuring all site operations comply with safety, health, environmental, legal, and company requirements. The role involves identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, conducting inspections and audits, investigating incidents, providing safety training, and promoting a strong safety culture. The SSS will also liaise with relevant authorities, including DOE, DOSH and local authorities, while providing safety guidance and support to management and employees.

Key responsibilities

• To check, control and ensure daily operation at site is adhered to safety, health and environmental, legal and company requirements.
• To anticipate, prevent and eliminate all unsafe conditions and practices at site that could lead to occupational injuries and illness.
• Work closely with all department heads to provide input related to safety, health and environmental matters
• Liaise with DOE, DOSH, BOMBA and local authority and ensure good working relationship is maintained
• Assess workplace hazards and risks and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate them
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety issues and ensure compliance with established safety protocols
• Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Provide regular safety training sessions and organize impactful safety campaigns to promote awareness
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for safety inspections, incidents and training
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety strategies, plans and procedures and adjust as needed
• Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters
• Stay updated about emerging safety trends, regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement
• Any additional assignments given by management

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum 2-4 years of working experience in occupational safety, health, or environmental management, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment
• Registered as Yellow Book / SHO trainee and eligible to obtain Green Book certification
• Possess competent certificate as Site Safety Supervisor
• Knowledge of Malaysian OSH regulations
• Risk assessment and incident investigation skills
• Good documentation and reporting skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Organized, detail-oriented, good communication and multitasking skills
• Able to communicate in English and Malay
