Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct the department resources to achieve productivity, yield, quality, cost, cycle time and zero customer complaint.
• Ensure all product testing meets customer satisfaction and equipment is properly maintained.
• Liaise with customers on technical issues, improvement programs, new product testing and transfer opportunities.
• Conduct evaluation and recommend new test equipment.
• Accountable for the profit and loss performance of the product lines.
• Plan and identify training to upgrade subordinates' knowledge and skills.
• Plan, identify and execute cost-down projects to meet department goals.
• Coordinate to meet customer scorecard requirements by subordinates.
• Plan and coordinate new product qualification to release to production as scheduled.
• Quality Accountability: enforce SOPs, coordinate QA issues, monitor line quality, drive improvements, share best practices, review issues, communicate alerts.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, organize and direct the resources of the department to achieve productivity, yield, quality, cost, cycle time and zero customer compliant.
2. Ensure that all product testing meets customer satisfaction and are equipment are properly maintained.
3. Liaise with customers on technical issues, improvement program, new product testing and transfer opportunity.
4. Conduct evaluation and recommend new test equipment.
5. Accountable for the profit and lost performance of the individual product lines.
6. Plan and identify the necessary training course to upgrade knowledge, skill and personal development of subordinates.
7. Plan, identify and execute the cost down projects to meet department KRA goal.
8. Responsible to coordinate and ensure subordinate to meet the customer score card requirement.
9. Plan and coordinate all the new product qualification to ensure all the new product release to production as per scheduled.
10. Quality Accountability:
    • Enforce compliance to standard operating procedure and specifications.
    • Notify and coordinate line quality issues between Quality Assurance, Engineering and Maintenance.
    • Tracking of line quality performance.
    • System or procedure improvement.
    • Proliferation of the best practices.
    • Review of potential quality issue highlighted by subordinates.
    • Communicate quality alert / changes to subordinates and peers in a timely manner.

We have three high technology factories. Two are located in Ipoh, Malaysia, and a new third factory is located in Suzhou, China. The two factories in Malaysia, Carsem - M Site and Carsem - S Site, are 10 miles (16Km) apart. Ipoh is a 90 minute drive from Penang and 2.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur.

The factories are supported by extensive R&D and failure analysis staff and incorporate highly sophisticated, "state of the art" automated equipment, ensuring quality products which meet the exacting standards of all the automotive, telecom, computer and consumer goods industries. Both factories maintain world-class quality standards having achieved ISO/TS 16949, ISO-9001, ISO-14001 certifications and comply to the Sony Green Partner Program. They are supported with a global network of sales and technical support offices. The China factory, Carsem-Suzhou Ltd., is located in the province of Jiangsu, 50 miles (80Km) west of Shanghai. The new factory is 172K sq. ft. (16K sq. m.) and is on 645K sq. ft. (60K sq. m.) of land in the Suzhou Industrial Park. The construction was completed in January 2004, the staff has been through extensive training in Carsem's existing Malaysian factories and the assembly and test equipment to support the manufacture of the MLP (Micro Leadframe Package) Quad and Dual was installed during the second quarter of 2004. Customer qualifications were completed during the second quarter and the factory started shipping production volumes during the third quarter of 2004.
