Job summary

MICRON MEMORY MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. seeks an L2 IT Operations Engineer focused on Windows and Unix server technologies, with automation and hybrid cloud experience. You will work across multiple data centers to ensure availability, performance and reliability, while pursuing AI-driven enhancements.

Role requires knowledge of Windows Server, Unix/Linux, scripting, and virtualization, with a strong emphasis on incident/problem management, SLAs, and capacity planning. Shift-based work is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 incident, request, change and problem management for Windows/Unix server operations.
• Participate in major incidents and ensure SLA/KPI targets are met.
• Install/upgrade firmware, patching, and changes on hardware/OS.
• Diagnose OS/hardware issues to maintain high availability of systems.
• Monitor performance, analyze cases to prevent recurrences and reduce noise.
• Develop SOPs and reports/dashboards for Windows/Unix operations.
• Perform capacity planning and participate in Disaster Recovery drills.
• Collaborate with Level 3 SMEs on improvements for security, availability and reliability.
• Build/maintain automation for system health checks and maintenance.
• Explore AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Job description

In this role, your primary focus will be to support Infrastructure Level 2 Operations with primary focus on Windows and Unix Server technologies and methodologies, which will have a heavy emphasis on automation and a hybrid cloud environment, while maintaining operational excellence in multiple world class Data Center environments.

Job Responsibility

ProvideL2supportin incident,request, changeandproblemmanagementrelated to server and DB operations in Windows and Unixoperating systems.

Provide L2 support and participate in Major incidents.

EnsureSLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work.

Ensure KPIs,such asbreach case target, MTTR and escalation target is met.

Install and upgrade firmware for hardware and operating systems, apply patches andimplement changes when required.

Diagnose and solve OS/hardware errors ensuring high availability of MFG systems.

Monitor server performance proactivelyand perform analysis of cases to prevent recurring issues.

Enhance monitoring/alerting to reduce noise and recurrences.

Develop processes and operation procedures related to server operations.

Create and manage reports, visualizations, and dashboards related to windows/unix operations.

Perform capacity planning and participate in DisasterRecovery drills.

Work with Subject Matter experts (Level 3) for improvement projects to ensure security, availability, performance, interoperability and reliability of Micron’s core computing resources.

Build/maintain automation for system health checks and routine maintenance.

Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance business processes, including developing and implementing AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and operating as a culture vanguard towards infusing AI into everyday work.

Requirement

Bachelor’sor Master’sdegree Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/SoftwareEngineering, Information Systems or relatedfields.

Academic know-how or internship experiences in the infrastructure domain of IT (Microsoft Windows 2019, 2016 and RHEL operating systems, Microsoft SQL and Oracle) and virtualizationtechnologies!

Desire to learn hardware and virtualization technologies like Cisco UCS, HPE ProLiant, VMware, Nutanix, OpenShift andCitrix

Certifications from Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix and Cisco and familiarity with scripting languages will be an added advantage

Knowledge in programmingand scriptinglanguages such as Java,PowerShelland Pythonis preferred!
