Job summary

Micron Memory Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an L2 Database Operations Support specialist to handle incidents, requests, changes and problems related to database operations in a 24/7 environment.

You will install and upgrade database systems, diagnose and resolve issues, manage access and backups, monitor performance, and develop procedures and dashboards. Fresh graduates welcome; shift rotation may apply. Collaborative role with AI-driven automation to enhance reliability and IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS/EE/IS or related field.
• Hands-on with MS SQL Server and Oracle DB.
• Experience with Linux/Windows OS.
• Programming/scripting: Java, PowerShell, Python.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fresh graduates welcome.
• Willing to work day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for incidents, requests, changes, and problems related to database operations.
• Provide 24/7 operational support and participate in major incidents.
• Ensure SLA targets for incidents and service requests.
• Monitor breach cases, MTTR, and first-line resolution.
• Install, upgrade, patch, and apply changes to database systems.
• Diagnose and resolve database errors for high availability.
• Manage database access, backups, and security compliance.
• Monitor performance and analyze cases to prevent recurrence.
• Review and improve database monitoring and procedures.
• Develop processes and operation procedures.
• Build and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Leverage AI and agentic solutions to automate workflows and improve IT operations.

Job description

Provide L2 support in incident, request, change and problem management related to database operations.

Provide operational support covering 24/7 and participate in Major incidents.

Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work.

Ensure critical metrics, such as breach case target, MTTR and first level resolution target is met.

Install and upgrade database systems, apply patches and implement changes when required.

Diagnose and resolve database errors ensuring high availability of database systems.

Manage databases access, backups and ensure compliance to database and security standards.

Monitor database performance proactively and perform analysis of cases to prevent recurring issues.

Review and improve database monitoring when required.

Develop processes and operation procedures.

Build and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards related database operations.

Leverage AI and agentic solutions to automate operational workflows, enhance service reliability, and improve IT operations efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or equivalent experience Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.
• Good understanding and hands‑on experience in the following areas will be advantageous:Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, Linux and Windows operation systems, programming and scripting languages such as Java, PowerShell and Python.
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
