JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leading strategic transformation programs across GBS Finance, ensuring successful execution of enterprise initiatives that improve operational efficiency, process standardization, reporting capabilities, automation, and digital transformation.

The Assistant Manager serves as the Finance Transformation & PMO lead for cross-functional projects, driving governance, planning, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and benefits realization. The role works closely with Finance leadership, IT, Global Process Owners, and regional/site stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives aligned with the GBS roadmap and long-term transformation strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance Transformation & PMO Governance & Project Leadership (Primary Responsibilities)

• Lead and manage multiple Finance transformation initiatives from planning through implementation.
• Develop project charters, business cases, project plans, timelines, governance structures, and implementation roadmaps.
• Drive project governance by monitoring scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and resource planning.
• Facilitate Steering Committee meetings and executive project reviews.
• Ensure project milestones, deliverables, and benefits realization are achieved according to agreed objectives.
• Manage project risks, issues, and escalation processes while driving timely resolution.
• Standardize project management methodologies, templates, and governance practices across GBS Finance.
• Support portfolio management by prioritizing initiatives aligned with business strategy and organizational capacity.

Finance Transformation & Business Improvement

• Lead strategic initiatives focused on Finance process transformation, standardization, automation, analytics, AI enablement, and operating model optimization.
• Collaborate with Lean & CI team and functional leaders to identify improvement opportunities across P2P, O2C, R2R, Treasury, Payroll, Costing, and other GBS Finance functions.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration between Finance, IT, Digital Transformation, and business stakeholders.
• Support implementation of reporting platforms, workflow automation, AI solutions, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Ensure projects deliver measurable business value, operational efficiency, improved governance, and enhanced stakeholder experience.

Executive Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with senior leaders, process owners, and project sponsors.
• Prepare executive presentations, project dashboards, portfolio updates, and strategic recommendations.
• Facilitate workshops, decision-making sessions, and stakeholder alignment meetings.
• Provide timely communication on project progress, risks, dependencies, and key decisions.

Team Development & PMO Excellence

• Coach and mentor PMO & SME team members on project management best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement of PMO governance, standards, and delivery methodologies.
• Support organizational change management and adoption activities for new initiatives.
• Perform strategic analysis, ad-hoc/special projects assigned by Finance leadership.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong knowledge of project management principles, governance frameworks, and delivery methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid approaches).
• Experience leading enterprise transformation or process improvement initiatives.
• Good understanding of Finance business processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, Treasury, Payroll, Costing).
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Shartsheet and project collaboration tools.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Experience in process automation, AI, analytics, or digital transformation is highly advantageous.
• Experience working within Shared Services or Global Business Services organizations is preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of project management, PMO, Finance transformation, or business improvement experience.
• Experience leading regional or global cross-functional initiatives.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
• Experience working in multinational organizations is highly desirable.
