Job summary

Watlow in Malaysia seeks a Senior Buyer (Indirect Materials) to manage internal purchasing requests, generate external orders, and track the delivery of goods and services. You will evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate terms to optimize cost and service levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate internal purchasing requests and external purchasing orders to optimize cost and service levels.
• Evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine desirable suppliers and negotiate terms.
• Develop and manage the supplier base through supplier selection, corrective actions, audits and feedback systems.
• Address late supplier shipments and resolve issues; follow up on orders and deliveries.
• Participate in lean kaizen events to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Senior Buyer (Indirect Materials)

Position Summary:

• Manages incoming internal purchasing requests, generating external purchasing requests, and tracking delivery of goods and services. Purchases and negotiates materials, equipment, and supplies from suppliers.
• He/She expected to lead projects or specific project activities within broader initiatives, take accountability for ongoing activities and objectives, and serve as a resource and subject-matter reference for less experienced colleagues, with minimal guidance and be capable of resolving complex issues effectively.

• Plan and coordinate physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure optimization of cost and service level.
• Manages incoming internal purchasing requests, generating external purchasing requests, and tracking delivery of goods and services.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree or Technical Qualification with related experience (3-5 years)
