Qualifications

• Recognition in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Professional registration/licensure as required by Malaysian regulatory bodies.

• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English; additional languages advantageous.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our healthcare team in Melaka Tengah, Melaka. In this role, you will provide essential speech and language therapy services to patients of all ages, helping them overcome communication and swallowing difficulties. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in improving our patients' quality of life and enabling them to communicate effectively with their families and communities. Key responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing abilities using standardised assessment tools and clinical observation

Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient-specific goals

Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions to patients across various age groups and presenting conditions

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes

Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation and patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals

Provide education and training to patients and their families regarding communication strategies and home exercise programmes

Participate in professional development activities and keep abreast of current best practices in speech and language pathology

Contribute to the planning and delivery of health promotion and awareness activities related to speech and language health

What we're looking for

A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Pathology or Speech Therapy from an accredited institution

Professional registration or licensure as required by Malaysian regulatory bodies for allied health professionals

Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, voice disorders, fluency disorders, swallowing disorders and cognitive communication impairments

Proficiency in conducting and interpreting standardised assessment batteries and diagnostic procedures

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams

Ability to develop and implement patient-centred, evidence-based treatment programmes

Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English; additional languages are advantageous

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple patient caseloads
