Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. You will develop individualized treatment plans and conduct therapy across all ages, from children to adults recovering from stroke or similar conditions.

The role involves education for patients and families, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining comprehensive progress records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
• Registered with the Malaysian Association of Speech-Language & Hearing (MASH).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and their families.
• Experience working with diverse patient groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, is an added advantage.
• Passionate about improving the quality of life for individuals with communication challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Conduct therapy sessions for patients of all ages, from children with speech delays to adults recovering from stroke or other conditions.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on treatment plans and exercises.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate patient records and progress reports.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language therapy through continuous learning and training.
