Job summary

AIA Global Financial Solutions is seeking a dedicated Financial Reporting professional to lead IFRS reporting across local statutory and group regulatory needs. You will prepare group financial statements, support audits, and drive ICFR compliance while collaborating with stakeholders across regions.

You will also handle local regulatory submissions and balance sheet reconciliations, contributing to process improvements and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting per standards.

Qualifications

• Completed University Degree in accountancy or Accounting Professional Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, MICPA).
• Currently pursuing Internationally Recognized Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, MICPA).
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial and accounting fields or in auditing at a big-size firm.
• Experience in shared services environments providing accounting, reporting and analysis is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare IFRS reporting templates quarterly, semi-annually and annually.
• Prepare financial statements, management accounts and audit schedules for AIA Group of Companies.
• Support local and group regulatory reporting, including submissions and responses to queries.
• Act as ICFR champion; assist with financial statements certification and control self-assessment.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and timely resolution of open items.
• Identify opportunities for standardization, automation and process improvement in reporting workflows.

About the Role

Reporting to Assistant Manager or Manager of R2R Financial Reporting, this position shall be responsible for the financial reporting for local statutory and group regulatory including Financial Statement and audit. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and policies, and timely resolution of any discrepancies across multiple entities and regions.

Job Description:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare quarterly / semi-annual / annual IFRS Reporting template following Group Closing instructions

Financial Statement and Financial Audit

• Preparation of AIA Group of Companies’ financial statements, management accounts and audit schedules
• Support AIA Group of Companies – Local Finance team on relevant matters relating to financial statements including financial audit, by providing timely and satisfactory response on all queries.
• Preparation of Letter of Representative, Board paper.
• Act as ICFR Champion, preparation of financial statements certification and financial control self-assessment checklist

Local Regulatory Reporting

• Preparation and submission of Local Regulatory Reporting templates for both routine and ad-hoc basis

Group Regulatory Reporting

• Preparation of delta ledger postings and submission of Group Regulatory Reporting templates.

Stakeholder Support

• Act as a key liaison between group finance, business units, and cross function to resolve any issues.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members on complex transactions.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Assistant Manager/ Manager as and when needed support.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain proper documentation for all transactions in line with audit requirements and Group accounting standards.
• Update Closing/Control Checklist, Training Materials and Business Process Manuals as and when required.

Control & Governance

• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Ensure ICFR control objective is met.

Balance Sheet Reconciliation:

• Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliations and resolve the unreconciled / open items on a timely manager.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for standardization, automation and process optimization within financial reporting workflows.

Others

• Involve in UAT as and when required.
• Perform other month end closing activities and ad hoc requests as and when required.
• Support on other projects and matters as and when required.

Job Requirement:

• Completed University Degree in accountancy or Accounting Professional Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, MICPA)
• Currently pursuing Internationally Recognized Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, MICPA)
• Minimum 3-5 years and above of relevant experience in financial and accounting related fields, and/or accounting and auditing experiences in a big-size accounting firm
• Experience in a shared services or similar environment providing general accounting, reporting and analysis services to external/internal stakeholders will be an added advantage
