Job summary

TNG Digital, part of TNG Digital Group, builds the tech behind TNG eWallet, a leading Malaysia payments app used daily by millions. You will work on backend systems, ensuring performance and reliability while implementing new features and tests.

The role emphasizes collaboration, code quality, and scalable architecture within a fast-moving fintech environment in Kuala Lumpur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
• 4 - 6 years of professional experience in Java Development.
• Familiar with Agile methodology. Familiar with object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms.
• Familiar with SQL, SOAP, REST Web Services, MVC framework - Hibernate, Spring, Docker, Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, OAuth2.0, JWE, Unit Test.
• Proficiency in Java, Git and SQL. Familiar with MVC design patterns or willing to learn.
• Familiar with Sequence Diagram/UML/Flow Chart or other system development diagrams.
• Knowledge on accessibility and security compliance is preferred.
• Commitment to collaborative problem solving is essential.
• Able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining high performance backend applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry standards and best practices.
• Support the team in debugging and troubleshooting software defects to ensure smooth and error-free functionality.
• Collaborate with senior developers and team members to design, develop, and implement new features.
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and improve coding skills.
• Ensure the system’s performance, quality, and responsiveness are maintained at optimal levels.
• Maintain and enhance critical business modules, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Identify and mitigate risks during the design and development phases.
• Design and implement system architecture in line with business and technical requirements.
• Provide innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs and improve system efficiency.
